With Peter’s first birthday quickly approaching, I’ve realized that we are transitioning from the baby stage to the toddler stage. I thought it would be fun to share my favorite and most used baby products that you should definitely add to your registry. These are the products we used the most during baby’s first year.
A good sound machine.
This is SO necessary, especially if you live on a busy street or have noisy dogs like ours. Our favorite is the Hatch Baby Rest white noise machine. I love that you can control it via Bluetooth on your phone. You also have the ability to control the built in light, which makes middle of the night diaper changes and feeding so much easier!
We used our swing every day for every nap until Peter was 4 months old. Around that time we started transitioning him to nap in his crib. But for those first few months the swing was our lifesaver. Ours didn’t have all the fancy bells and whistles. I personally don’t believe that you need the most expensive one on the market for baby to get a good nap in. I’m looking at you MamaRoo! But if that’s your thing, then go for it! Just keep in mind that in the grand scheme of things you won’t be using it too long.
I absolutely loved our Dr. Brown’s bottles. I did so much research on great bottle brands when making our registry, and these kept coming up as the best. Honestly, I hadn’t planned on needing them. But, when we found out we wouldn’t be able to breastfeed, these bottles were a lifesaver to have on hand. These bottles are supposed to help with gas and colic. I definitely noticed a difference between using these and the Advent bottles we also had.
I used two carriers with Peter. When he was itty bitty we used the Cuddle Bug baby wrap. It came with instructions and was pretty easy to use. I loved going on walks with Peter all snuggled and warm in this carrier. As he’s gotten bigger we made the switch to the Infantino 4 in 1 carrier. Hubs carries Peter on his back now, and Peter LOVES it. He giggles and smiles the whole time. We are still getting lots of use out of this carrier even with Peter getting so big. I recently wore him in it through the airport when we flew to my moms for Thanksgiving. So perfect!
We didn’t get the highest grade baby monitor on the market. If you want that then I suggest the Owlet Baby Monitor. Ours is vTech and it’s worked great for what we need. I didn’t want a monitor that connects to the internet because those can be hacked (there’s some weirdos out there). We have been very happy with our monitor. It keeps tabs on the temperature of the room and the display lights up if Peter makes a noise.
