Being a two income household means that hubs and I work A LOT during the week. This also means that we don’t want to spend time cleaning in the evenings. We would much rather spend time with baby boy and each other. And that’s exactly what we do.
When I first went back to work I stressed so much over the cleanliness of our home. I felt like I never had ANY time to clean. The dishes were piling up horribly, the laundry was never ready for the week, and the floors were covered with dog hair. I did so much research on how to keep a clean home. I read all the blogs and attempted to follow all the advice. But, it didn’t work for our home. So, I came up with a system that does work for us.
I call it my “no worries” system. I wrote down several manageable things I know I can do every day. Then, I wrote down all the things I know I can do on Saturday while Peter is napping. And that’s all I do. I refuse to waste time stressing and worrying over how my home looks. We really do have a clean house, and if I miss one day of cleaning or picking up, it’s no big deal. Life happens.
You can download my daily & weekly checklist [here]. I even added space at the bottom for you to write 3 goals for your week. I use that space to write in the “extra” chores I need to get done for the week (like cleaning out the fridge).
